Mayor J\u00fcrgen Roth has\u00a0<\/span>been hoping<\/span>\u00a0for nothing more than a large\u00a0<\/span>delivery<\/span>\u00a0of 400,000 protective masks<\/span>\u00a0from China\u00a0<\/span>for\u00a0<\/span>the city<\/span>\u00a0of VS<\/span>. These are mainly manufactured in China for the world market and are in great demand worldwide\u00a0<\/span>due to<\/span>\u00a0the corona crisis.\u00a0<\/span>However,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>politicians<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>are in some cases being back handed when trying to\u00a0<\/span>acquire<\/span>\u00a0masks and other protective equipment.\u00a0<\/span>German government\u00a0<\/span>officials<\/span>\u00a0say that US representatives in China are said to have tried to transfer protective equipment, including masks, to the United States\u00a0<\/span>with<\/span>\u00a0large sums of\u00a0<\/span>money<\/span>. There are similar allegations\u00a0<\/span>in<\/span>\u00a0France.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

Although medical protective equipment manufacturers are producing around the clock, demand continues to significantly outstrip supply. The fact that the first 10,000 masks arrived in VS this week and were not\u00a0<\/span>taken<\/span>\u00a0by the Americans is important for the people in the<\/span>\u00a0city<\/span>. Voigt studied international business administration at the\u00a0<\/span>Schwenningen<\/span>\u00a0Faculty of Economics at\u00a0<\/span>Furtwangen<\/span>\u00a0University (HFU),\u00a0<\/span>around the same time as\u00a0<\/span>Winter\u00a0<\/span>studied<\/span>\u00a0Product Engineering<\/span>\u00a0there<\/span>\u00a0(<\/span>today\u00a0<\/span>known as\u00a0<\/span>industrial engineering<\/span>)<\/span>. The two have worked in global companies for years.\u00a0<\/span>Eric<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Voigt has been responsible for 20 years in\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>expansion and restructuring\u00a0<\/span>of<\/span>\u00a0international companies and private equity funds in Asia and Europe<\/span>. H<\/span>e is a specialist\u00a0<\/span>in<\/span>\u00a0Asian business and knows: “In times like these, it is particularly important to have reliable technical knowledge and qualified supply chains in a globalized world.”<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

Clinic staff in particular are dependent on FFP protective masks. Voigt and Winter earn their bread and butter by advising German and international companies on strategic procurement management, which is also known as \u201cglobal sourcing\u201d. The importance of\u00a0<\/span>has been highlighted<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>during<\/span>\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0current<\/span>\u00a0corona crisi<\/span>s.<\/span>\u00a0Many German companies\u00a0<\/span>who<\/span>\u00a0have their products manufactured in Asia<\/span>\u00a0suddenly recognize how fragile the otherwise smooth procurement processes are. This is where Voigt, whose mother still lives in\u00a0<\/span>Villingen<\/span>, started: With his design and engineering\u00a0<\/span>company<\/span>\u00a0“<\/span>OnePointZero<\/span>“, he has built up close connections\u00a0<\/span>with<\/span>\u00a0first-class production sites around the world. Graduate Eric Voigt shows how trend-setting the course\u00a0<\/span>was in<\/span>\u00a0International Business (IBW) 20 years ago<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0Although his company is based in Berlin and Hong Kong, he works worldwide with teams in Shenzhen, China, Hong Kong, Berlin, London, Zurich<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>Dublin, Paris and<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Villingen-Schwenningen.\u00a0<\/span>Eric<\/span>\u00a0is currently\u00a0<\/span>located<\/span>\u00a0here, because in<\/span>\u00a0these<\/span>\u00a0times of crisis,\u00a0<\/span>there are no<\/span>\u00a0plane<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0goes to Asia. H<\/span>e and Markus recognized early on what would happen to the pandemic at Villingen-Schwenningen and that their help would be<\/span>\u00a0n<\/span>e<\/span>eded<\/span>. Markus Winter makes it clear that first-class goods from China that meet European quality requirements are not easy to obtain<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0even outside\u00a0<\/span>of\u00a0<\/span>the crisis. Only about two percent of manufacturers, he says, are able to meet local standards. This also applies to the masks which “<\/span>OnePointZero<\/span>” employees in China strictly control and which are now being sent to the\u00a0<\/span>c<\/span>ity<\/span>\u00a0in regular deliveries.
