One Point Zero at the BizExpo in Dublin

Walking around the BizExpo show in Dublin last week, it was inspiring to see the vitality of the businesses exhibiting. This event has been running since 2011 and attracts thousands of decision makers across a wide variety of industry sectors every year. It is easy to see why. With over 140 exhibits and a packed schedule of talks, there were many standout moments from the day.

The calibre of speakers was very high including:

  • Search Engine Optimisation (SEO): The Fundamentals for Success presented by Suzan Aktug from Digigrow who gave an illuminating breakdown of what SEO is and how it can help your business.

  • 5 Strategies to Get Ahead of the Curve with Facebook & Instagram Marketing in 2020 by Louise McDonnell, a highly sought after marketing specialist, who had some great insights into helping business’s, like ours, grow their online audience.

  • High Performance Success without Stress by Doug Gordon from D&S Performance Optimisation with a more holistic approach to managing stress whilst pushing boundaries to be profitable.

  • Post Brexit Trade Across the Irish Sea speaker by Paul McMahon from McMahon Legal gave a really engaging talk, outlining what we know and what may be to come in 2020, post-Brexit.

A selection of talks from the day have been uploaded to the BizExpo channel on YouTube. We would highly recommend a listen, click here for a direct link.

A range of industries were represented at the event including Banks (SME support), Software, Enterprise support services and Branding & Marketing. Perhaps the most interesting takeaway from the show for us was the Technology Gateway run by Enterprise Ireland. This is a network of 15 tech hubs spread across Ireland which can provide expertise and deliver solutions for industry partners. Find out more here.

The expo did highlight the need for more service partnerships, not within the same sector but across industries as the companies present were well represented but only within their stated category. There is an opportunity with One Point Zero’s service provision to enable business to grow into sectors they have not yet considered. An example of this would be to utilise the data from banking services and SME offerings to create a platform that maximises the impact of extended loan growth.

The BizExpo was an extremely informative event and considering its size it has remained free to attend. We would highly recommend attendance for any business looking to grow and expand their network.
