Project Overview
The Rangemaster “Classic” line was an aging line in the Rangemaster range of domestic cooking solutions. The project brief was to design and develop a product refresh that could be adopted across all product skus in the family with minimal tooling cost.
The output was a complete reposition of the product line with a fresh but heritage feel and capital expensive of 3 x press tools and a single die-casting tool. This extending the lifespan of the line by around 5-8 years while increasing the project MSRP of the system by 20% based on focus group feedback.
One Point Zero was able to offer tooling offshoring solutions to Rangemaster that provided superior quality component production than was possible through Rangemaster’s existing supply chain.
The components were perfectly colour/finish matched to Rngemasters existing vendors and delivered on a Just-In-Time bases removing the need for expensive UK based stockholding.
This was delivered with a 9% reduction in component pricing over incumbent vendor with zero extension of product lead time.
